Fourth Trimester Postnatal Retreat in the DC-Metro area is for all families with a newborn including from surrogacy or adoption.

Fill out the form on our reservations page and Fourth Trimester will follow up with confirmation details. When you’re ready to book, we’ll reserve dates based on your current due date. As you get closer to your due date, we’ll keep in touch to move your dates around based on any changes you may have. Once you go into labor, or schedule your c-section, we will confirm your final booking.

Our specialists will be available to take care of your baby so you can get the rest and recovery you need. Our full-stocked baby room features always-on baby monitors private to your viewing so you can always check in on baby and have peace of mind.

Educational Classes for you and your partner:
Our goal is for you to go home feeling rested and ready to confidently take care of your baby. We offer lactation support and breastfeeding classes, nutrition and meal prep consulting, sleep consulting, infant CPR classes, newborn care classes and postpartum screenings.

Guests have the option to sign up for luxe spa treatments at the Argentta Spa at The Watergate at a 15% off discount.

Delicious and Nutritious Dining:
Having a baby and breastfeeding (if you choose to do so) takes a lot of energy! The award-winning Watergate Hotel chefs will prepare 3 meals a day for you. You can add meals for your partner at an additional cost.

In the case of serious health complications or loss, guests will receive a full refund.

Guests with babies in the NICU after their reservation date must attend once they have been cleared.

Guests who do not show will be charged for the entirety of their booking stay.

Yes. Your spouse or partner is welcome to attend with you. Guests interested in bringing their other children, please inquire for additional assistance.

We take the safety of you and your baby seriously and have several measures in place for your protection.

• We have 24/7 baby monitors in the nursery
• Nursery is staffed 24/7 and only Fourth Trimester staff will have access to it
• Babies and parents will have matching ID bracelets and must be checked in and out of the nursery
• All employees are Infant CPR certified
• Staff are available 24/7 by either text or call

Once a guest determines insurance coverage, Fourth Trimester will provide you with paperwork for maximum reimbursement. It’s best to talk to your insurance company in advance to understand which services may be covered. Services that are often covered include lactation services and educational courses. Fourth Trimester is unable to coordinate directly with your insurance company.
